“I have been studying with Takako for a total of four years, and she has helped me through my JLPT N3, in which I scored in the 97.5th percentile. She has provided me with materials such as DVDs and books to further my understanding and discusses topics of interest so that you can learn the vocabulary relevant to you, rather than words you will never use. I am now going to read Japanese at university. This has been possible due to the support Takako has given me, as well as the cultural understanding I had access to through her teaching.”

“I have been learning Japanese with Mrs Parsons for some years now. She is a fantastic, kind, supportive teacher, and always goes above and beyond to enhance understanding of the language. So far I have completed GCSE and A Level Japanese, achieving A* in both – higher than I had hoped for – as well as JLPT N4, in which I scored in the 96th percentile. Although Japanese is very different from English grammatically and culturally and so can be difficult to study, with the help of Mrs Parsons, it became an enjoyable and manageable challenge rather than an impossible one.”

“I have been learning Japanese from Mrs Parsons for many years now, and she is one of the best teachers I’ve ever known, and I feel privileged and lucky to be taught by her. She is patient and supportive, and keeps the lesson atmosphere light and fun. When I moved from school to college, and then away for university Mrs Parsons very kindly accommodated my changing schedule and offered lessons over Skype, allowing me to continue my studies even when I couldn’t be in Shrewsbury. This year I will sit the JLPT LEVEL 4 examination, and I feel very strongly that with Mrs Parsons’s guidance I will be prepared with, not only the grammar and vocabulary, but also the cultural understanding that is necessary to succeed. “

” Before I met Takako Parsons, I had very little knowledge of the Japanese language and even its amazing culture. All I knew, was that I could barely write in Kana and was limited to expressing myself with only introductions and greetings. Thanks to Takako Parsons’ teaching, I am proud to admit that I have come so far with my listening, reading, writing and importantly speaking. I was able to achieve a Grade A in my Japanese GCSE with the help and outstanding support provided. I know so much more about the language and its country, compared to when I first started. Takako’s Japanese learning, is fun, interesting and I always leave the lesson having learnt something new. I have thoroughly enjoyed my learning experience and still do ’til this day!”
